About

Here’s a bit about who we are & how this place called Town Hall Collaborative came to be…

Hello! We are Denise and Lauren, and we can’t wait to meet you. You’re likely to see one or both of us when you come in because we created this space with the intention of being here, like a lot!

Best friends, business partners and entrepreneurs at heart, we’ve been working towards a shared dream of opening a community gathering place for the last decade. The rest is, as they say, history.

Town Hall Collaborative is something we've discussed doing for years, but the motivation to bring it to life came from the last couple of years. If we’ve learned anything, it’s that connection, community and a sense of belonging is something we can’t live without - and we don’t want to.

Our Story

From the beginning, Town Hall has been about three things:

  1. Bringing people together who crave connection, creativity and some good old-fashioned fun!

  2. Supporting and empowering women

  3. Making space for each other and creating a safe and inspiring space for underrepresented groups

Why Did We Create
Town Hall Collaborative?

What is Our Mission
& Why it Matters?

Our mission is to support and empower women through hiring, vendor partnerships and investments. Throughout this process of starting our own business, we were shocked (and also so not surprised) to find that a measly 2% of financial investments go to female entrepreneurs and less than 1% goes to women of color. Women are offered much smaller loans with significantly higher interest rates than men, and we recently lost 140,000 women in the workforce due to the COVID pandemic.

We have felt this inequality first-hand as we've built this business, and we've said since the beginning that we can't wait to "pay it forward" by partnering with, hiring, and empowering women and other marginalized communities. For example, we live in a state that boasts 400+ breweries and less than TEN of those are 100% women owned. It’s the same in the wine and spirits industry…and we can’t wait to carry these amazing women-owned beverage brands at Town Hall!

Your support for Women-Owned businesses is an investment into a future of economic success, innovation, and equality. It's time we support each other because when we do, powerful things happen.

Thank you for reading our story and we can’t wait to hear yours. Our hope for Town Hall is that you feel welcomed when you come in, connected while you’re here, and inspired when you leave. We always welcome and appreciate any feedback, thoughts, comments, wishes and dreams.

Love,

Denise and Lauren
